Brief & Approach

The task was to explore how eBay could be more 'current' and work with trends, appropriate to the brand, to bring something fresh and new to their social media.

We wanted to make more of a showcase of the products, allowing the colours, shapes and branding to influence the design.

This provides a much more tailored aesthetic.

Art Direction & Outcome

Above you can see lots of different outcomes. These would all be individual routes rather than a collective.

To ensure continuity we would choose a route, for example the red framing of the 'Nike Satan' (route 06) and use this as a key element across all.

Ultimately, while all variations were beautiful in their own right, eBay chose to run with the last version (route 08). Here we find a blend of our original concept, allowing influence from the product, whilst also still having a subtle nod to the eBay branding with the use of the 4 colour bar. Using a more minimal touch which is refreshing for eBay.

Art DirectorI aided with exhibitions, charity events and running internal classes at university.

Embroidery TechnicianI worked in the textile industry for a short while helping with embroidery and printing. I was also used for my logo design skills prior to the printing in some cases.

Print & designWhilst working here, I produced and printed banners, signage, logos, re-touched photo's. I produced limited edition branding for a cricket company and also learnt to fit shop and vehicle signage (vinyl).
