Brief & Approach

To produce branding for a newly established ceramics business. The style and inspiration for the ceramics is "Japandi" - a marriage between Japanese and Scandinavian design.

This brief uses stock imagery for mock purposes. I do not own the rights to those specific stock images/footage.

Art Direction & Outcome

We explored various types of logo design, experimenting with scale, type, illustration and influence. Looking at pattern, shape and 'brush styles'.

Ultimately, we decided on a more organic style and stroke to mimic the handmade and natural style of the ceramics. Using both type and illustration provides more versatility within the branding allowing us to use them together or singularly. We can develop the illustration in a pattern and the type into a minimal stamp for the ceramics. These were all considerations when creating and choosing the route.

Art DirectorI aided with exhibitions, charity events and running internal classes at university.

Embroidery TechnicianI worked in the textile industry for a short while helping with embroidery and printing. I was also used for my logo design skills prior to the printing in some cases.

Print & designWhilst working here, I produced and printed banners, signage, logos, re-touched photo's. I produced limited edition branding for a cricket company and also learnt to fit shop and vehicle signage (vinyl).
